Dashmi Roti is a popular Maharashtrian recipe made with whole wheat flour and besan flavoured with a variety of spice powders.

Ingedientts:

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon refined oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 10 tablespoon refined oil
  • 1/4 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 1/4 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 3 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • For Dough
  • 1 tablespoon refined oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 1/4 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 3 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup water

Method

  • Take a deep mixing bowl, and combine all the ingredients and knead into a semi-stiff dough using enough water.
  • Divide the dough into 7 equal portions and make circular roti out of them.
  • Serve hot with green chutney and curd.
