Corn Rolls

 

Corn Rolls is a delicious appetizer recipe that you can prepare for your friends and family on occasions like kitty parties and game nights.

Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 cup American corn kernels
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 6 tablespoon coriander leaves
  • 8 green chilli
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 4 cup water
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • salt as required
  • black pepper as required
  • For Dough
  • 1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 4 cup water
  • salt as required

Method:

  • Firstly, take a bowl and mix rice flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, gram flour, salt and water together to make a
  • batter. Make sure that the consistency of the batter is thin. Keep it aside for a few minutes. Now, put a deep-
  • bottomed pan on medium flame and add water in it. After a boil, add the corn kernels and let them boil until
  • tender.
  • Now, take a mixer-grinder and grind corn kernels along with green chillies and a little water until the paste is
  • smooth in consistency. Put the paste into a bowl and add plain flour, coriander leaves, baking soda, lemon
  • juice, sugar, salt and black pepper powder. Mix all the ingredients well. Add water in the mixture and make a
  • smooth dough.
  • Take small quantities of the freshly prepared dough and roll them into the shape of cylinders. Dip each roll into
  • the batter and then dip it in bread crumbs.
  • Now, heat refined oil in a frying pan over medium flame and fry these rolls until golden brown in colour from
  • all sides
  • Take a plate and place tissue papers over it, transfer the rolls onto the plate so that excessive oil can be
  • absorbed. Serve hot with your choice of dip! Corn Rolls tastes best with cheese dip.
