With patriotism in air, a few shopping malls, theatres, and workplaces the nation over have wore the shade of the Indian flag that is saffron, white, and green. The subjects of the sub-mainland are wanting to wear a blend of tricolor to mirror the soul of patriotism. When we have chosen about the dressing style, then how can we leave food behind? Here we bring tricolour sandwich recipe that you can plan to make this Independence Day much more unique.

Time: 20 minutes


  • For green spread
  • 7 stems of Cilantro
  • 8 basil leaves
  • 10 baby spinach leaves
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 2 garlic colves
  • salt to taste
  • For orange spread
  • 1/4 cup carrots shredded
  • salt to taste
  • For white spread
  • 1/4 cup cottage cheese/paneer grated
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of whole wheat/rye bread
  • 1/4 cup whey strained yogurt/hung curd


  • For green spread- Combine all the green ingredients and grind into a smooth paste in a blender. Add salt to taste. Add 1/8th cup of yogurt, mix well and keep aside.
  • For Orange- Spread grated carrots and 1/8 cup og yogurt. And salt to tastee. Mix well. Keep aside.
  • Take 3 slices of bread. On the first one generously spread the green spread. On the next slice sprinkle the grated cottage cheese. Place it on top of the green slice with
  • cottage cheese facing on top. On the third slice, spread the carrot spread generously and place it on top of the white. Make sure the carrots are facing on top. Finally close
  • the sandwich with the last slice of bread.
  • 4. Cut it either into 4 halves or triangles and relish it, will leave you feeling patriotic.
